A design haven among hotels in Hapeville
The tiny town of Hapeville, less than a mile from Kimpton Overland Hotel, charms with both historical interest and artsy revitalization. Stroll through downtown amid colorful murals and whimsical butterflies, part of the public arts program. One gem of Hapeville’s Main Street is the Historic Depot Museum, a 19th-century train depot now packed with offbeat (yet excellently presented) transportation artifacts, like Orville Wright’s pilot’s license. Walk across the road to a local pharmacy for a refreshing lime sour, or grab lunch at Chick-fil-A Dwarf House, the inaugural location of the famous Southern fast-food chain. Hip bars and restaurants are making their way into town, including Arches Brewing and Corner Tavern. All in all, we think Hapeville is living up to its tagline: “Where Things Are Taking Off!”
